Variety introduction
1. Elbow expansion joint
Bend the pipe into a U shape or other shape, also known as a tension bend. It is an expansion joint that uses the elastic deformation capacity of the body to compensate. It has the advantages of good strength, long service life, and can be made on site. Its disadvantages are large space occupation, more steel consumption and large friction resistance. This expansion joint is widely used in various steam pipelines and long pipelines.
2. Bellows expansion joint
Bellows expansion joint is an expansion joint made of metal bellows. It can stretch along the axis direction, and also allows a small amount of bending. Figure 2 shows a common axial bellows expansion joint, which is used for axial length compensation on the pipeline. In order to prevent exceeding the allowable compensation amount, protective pull rods or protective rings are set at both ends of the bellows, and guide brackets are set on the pipes at both ends connected with the bellows.
In addition, there are corner type and transverse type expansion joints, which can be used to compensate the corner deformation and transverse deformation of the pipeline. The advantages of this type of expansion joint are space saving, material saving, easy standardization and batch production, and the disadvantages are short service life. Bellows expansion joints are generally used on short pipes with low temperature and pressure. 3. Casing expansion joint
Casing expansion joint is composed of inner and outer casing which can make axial relative movement.
The stuffing box is used for sealing between the inner and outer casings. Keep the tubes at both ends moving on one axis during use. Guide brackets are installed at both ends of the expansion joint.
Its advantages are small friction resistance to fluid flow, compact structure, poor sealing performance, and large thrust to fixed support. Casing expansion joints are mainly used for water pipelines and low-pressure steam pipelines.
