The flanged metal bellows compensator is a widely used pipeline component. The core component, the bellows, is made of multiple layers of metal and achieves elastic expansion and contraction through the bellows structure. It can absorb pipeline displacement caused by thermal expansion and contraction, ground settlement, etc., counteract stress changes, and ensure safe operation of pipelines. It is commonly used in industrial pipeline systems such as chemical, petroleum, metallurgy, and energy industries.
Size:
DN32-DN1200
Material
The main corrugated pipe is commonly made of stainless steel (such as 304, 316L), and the flange part is mostly made of carbon steel or stainless steel material to ensure connection strength and sealing.
Applicable temperature
If it is made of stainless steel material (such as 304), the generally applicable temperature range is about -194 ºC -+400 ºC; If other special alloy materials are used, the applicable temperature range will be adjusted to meet the temperature change requirements of different industrial scenarios.
Advantage
Strong displacement compensation capability: able to absorb axial, lateral, and angular displacement, cope with deformation caused by thermal expansion and contraction, ground settlement, etc. of pipelines, counteract stress, and protect pipeline systems.
Shock absorption and noise reduction: Utilizing corrugated structures to absorb vibration energy, reducing noise and equipment vibration transmission during pipeline system operation, and improving system stability.
Easy installation and maintenance: The flange connection method is easy to install, disassemble, and maintain, and has significant advantages in large-diameter and long-distance pipeline systems.
Corrosion and high pressure resistance: Metal materials (especially stainless steel, etc.) have good corrosion and high pressure resistance, and are suitable for harsh working conditions such as chemical and petroleum industries.
Disadvantage
Fatigue life limit: The corrugated pipe is prone to fatigue damage due to long-term frequent displacement and pressure changes, and needs to be regularly inspected and replaced.
Relatively high cost: Compared to some traditional pipeline connectors, the manufacturing and procurement costs are higher due to material and processing requirements.
Easy to be affected by installation: If the requirements are not strictly followed during installation, such as excessive deformation of the corrugated pipe or uneven connection between the pipeline and the compensator, additional stress concentration will occur, which will affect the service life and compensation effect.
